Today was a long day. It started with a 4:00am start and went Water Taxi - Walk - Airplane - Bus - Walk. 7 hours later we were at our B&B in Marina's mums hometown of Giardini Naxos, Sicily. And if that wasn’t enough, we then walked at least another 8-10km along the promenade looking around at shops & restaurants, booking some day trips, and finally going for a swim in the magnificent Mediterranean. We walked back to the waterfront again ...

... driving like Sterling Moss (Aryton Senna for younger readers) up hill and down dale. Before we knew it we were in the middle of no where! After breakfast my cousin Nello's wife Marisa and their daughters Vera and Federica, and friend Simone pick me up and we head to Isola Bella for a day on the beach. On our way we stop at the bakery and purchase our panini with provalone cheese and prosciutto for lunch.

Today I had a chill-out day, so Pina, Saro and I enjoyed an outing to Corso Umberto for a Peach Granita macchiato with Mandola. After breakfast we all went shopping.

I bought a pair of shorts, a new cap and some Eau de Toilette, 'Lemon Sorbet'. We also did some grocery shopping before returning home to join Zia Graziella who had made gnocchi and chicken schnitzels for lunch.

In the afternoon I took ...

    Swimming in the Ionian Sea

After a good nights rest I woken up to a breakfast of Granita and Brioche. I believe it has been the staple diet for the whole time I have been in Sicily. The day was enjoyed relaxing by the waters of the Ionian sea and as well the frequent dips. The Mediterranean water are quite warm, but under currents which thrust into the water are freezing. After a while those shots of icy water ...
