We woke up early to drive to Yarra Valley wine country because we had to return the car later before the rental place closed later that day. I was pretty tired when we pulled up to TarraWarra, the first winery of the day. But after a couple free tastings we all perked up. TarraWarra has a beautiful view over the valley. The woman working there was extremely friendly and gave us a map of the area and told us the best ...
Yarra Glen, Victoria, Australia kytravelsOh my god! What a way to start our honeymoon! Flight from Adelaide was good... got away on time and had a tail wind, so got into Melbourne early!
Then we got the most talkative shuttle bus driver ever, who wouldn't let us get out of the bus when we got to our motel room! Telling us all about all sorts of **** that we've since forgotten! Motel room was a scene from the 1970s... bad decor, bad smell, bad mattress! Needless to say we were happy to get on the plane the next morning!
Just checking in to let you know that we are still alive and well.....very well! Since we last dropped in on the travelpod, we have been in Sydney, Waikerie and Melbourne. We've been true to our trip title which has left no time for blogging. Since arriving in Sydney, we have transitioned from tourist to ...
Melbourne, Victoria, Australia arneson... is the case as on the WHV we can only work for companies for 6 months and can't begin to think about our own companies or businesses. Therefore if we have been enquiring a little about residency visas. Having been in touch with an agent over here it seems that I am eligible to apply for one of these visas. Therefore there have been many conversations about what the next few years should hold. We both agree that Australia is the best place to build a life and the residency visa is ...
Melbourne, Victoria, Australia adam_and_kimWe arrived at Melbourne Airport to be greeted by our great friends Michael and Libby, two Australians back from their home in London for Christmas. Within minutes of getting into their car they told us they were putting on a BBQ for dinner back at theirs - we were definitely in Australia!! The next day we explored Melbourne - a large, lively, cosmopolitan city. In addition to the tram system, what stuck us immediately was ...
Melbourne, Victoria, Australia richandtim... resources and allowed opportunities to anyone with the technology to compete on a global scale. I have been able to make a number of connections between the material presented at the RMIT weekend workshops and my current reading and research in preparation for this study tour. There is currently a major push for the outsourcing of products and services from the developed world to less developed nations. This is largely ...
Melbourne, Victoria, Australia ktlever... all of Kevin's coworkers over and a couple of my friends from work as well, and ended up with about 20 of us eating and drinking and making merry. The following Saturday was the harvest party for Yering Station...we went out go kart racing (way better than bumper cars, plus i kicked ass!) and then they took us to a wonderful riverfront restaurant for a three course dinner where we had each brought 2 bottles of very ...
Yarra Glen, Australia caremillard... and Wilson's Promotory for a week in order to get in touch with our inner hippy -my iPod has died, very upsetting as no music and lots of travelling time is always a bummer! And now for the more long winded update. We went for another jaunt in the city on Tue and Wed. Right now its the Melbourne International Comedy Festival (it's on for a month at hundreds of venues across the city), so we went to see Nick Son perform at ...
Yarra Glen, Australia caremillard... of weeks. Not to mention their border collie, Jack, that I am threatening to take with me on my travels. Last Wednesday Kevin and I took the day off, our first day off together in over a month, and enjoyed ourselves. We went to the Yarra Glen bakery which is AMAZING and very dangerous, since it is so close. I thoroughly enjoyed my mediterranean quiche and vanilla slice (kind of like an napoleon, lots of custard and pastry and ...
