After staying out until 3am last night we still all managed to get up by 8.45 and out and about by 10 (ish). We walked to Vintgar gorge which had been highly recommended to us by our hostel owner, although she failed to mention the one hour ascent in blistering heat. Shout out to Anna for map reading and leading us all the way there, only helped by a couple of road signs and the occasional local to check that we were on the right track. Stopping halfway at a café was ...

What we have seen so far has been largely middle class and rich looking, which is hard to fathom when the only 'industry' you can see is riding around on kiddies tractors pulling up turnips to eat with 'grout'. I did a whole lot of research yesterday which counted for nothing today as we completely changed our plans. I was going to take Kerry to some ice caves and the pretty town of Helstatt but it meant a bit of back tracking and we decided to push on towards Croatia. Because I refused to drive on the motorways so we could see more of Austria it took us from 10.15 till 5.15 pm to get to our destination. There was ...

... were those of Tabbi and Lucy. Tabbi's mental but very facial preparations before she threw herself into the rock pools were hilarious and Lucy was just generally funny. Her upper body muscles slightly failed her on one of the obstacles- a hang and then a drop. She missed the hang and moved straight to the drop. She survived which meant we could all laugh. The scariest thing on the course was one of the slides, which as we were sliding round a corner we ...

... a restaurant in the corner of the Landhaushof.  It looked very fancy inside and we all decided to try the Tafelspitz.  It was amazing! By far the best Taf I have eaten so far! We were supposed to meet up with our friends from the Junior tour but they got snowed in so they couldn't come :( BUT we decided to go bowling (proper bowling)!! It was very fun - even though I was given the special velcro shoes!  We then went to Molly Malones' ...
