I had never thought of travelling to Zurich only to take part in the Street Parade. But back in 2008 some friends wanted me to go there and I did not regret it. It is a real special parade with many friendly people in a very nice city near the Lake Zurich. The central station was also decorated and used for the party, and during night time the big station hall became one of the largest dancing clubs in the world. I can only tell people to go there and enjoy the great ambiance!<br>

Just a day trip to see this old city. Lots of brightly painted buildings with ornate oriel windows. Most of the windows were carved with scenes or fancy designs, sometimes painted, sometimes both. Lots of fountains and statues. Found a chocolate shop and pigged out.

... Zurich had to offer were in 10ft of our hostel. We had managed to pick the only hostel in the gay district of Zurich. Braden was excited. By the time 5pm rolled around the street around the hostel transformed into a open party, where a marching ban played, people ate in open cafes, and the local bars set up shop outside their front doors and served drinks. ... also got one year "Junior Cards" for her two children for 20 CHF each, and these allow the kids to travel almost anywhere in Switzerland by Tram/Bus/Train "for free" if they are with at least one of their parents. M also bought a monthly Zürich Zone 10 Tram pass, while D bought a Zone 10 card that will allow him to travel within Zürich for any 6 days that he chooses. (He plans to be here only about ...

... room (why didn't we get this room earlier?) and finally checked in at 2.15pm. We had a nap for an hour or so then got dressed at went to dinner at 6pm. We caught the tram down to the train station and had dinner at Pizza Hut as we were too tired and hungry to search too hard for something to eat. We then caught the tram back to the hotel and made some plans for the next day before going to sleep at 10pm.

... it.<br><br>Notes on our way back from Lucerne: It is a lovely Old World city. The wooden bridge over the lake with its paintings of the history of Lucerne was really impressive and beautiful. Considering that it was done over 300 years ago is amazing. The Jesuit church, just a short walk from the end of the bridge, was just as impressive.
