Rude receptionists questioning our wealth (a.k.a. can we afford to stay there and for no obvious reason) and talking shit behind our backs and laughing at us etc. highly unprofessional things. Probably gave us the worst room with a long-ish walk to there and a dangerous bathroom. Luckily it was only for a little rest before the flight.

    ... at 8:39.

This train to Koln is an ICE train - Inter City Express - it moves along like greased lightening. Screens on the train clock the speed. I know we hit 296km at one point. These trains are smooth, quiet, comfortable and, most of all, faassstttt.

Koln at 10:17am. Walk out of the hauptbahnhof in Koln and whammo!!!!! There is the huge gothic cathedral looming gigantic. Not much to say except there is one reference in the crypts in the basement ...

At the end of the tour we finished off overlooking the Rhein and Dusseldorf in the Rhine Tower restaurant eating impeccably tasty foods, which I don’t believe students would appreciate seeing there palate would now have matured yet. After an awesome day of constant learning and further and in-depth astonishment ...

... I was doing this my bags were already being placed in the trunk of the taxi, and off I went. The drive to Dusseldorf was slightly awkward as I chose to sit in the front seat of the taxi and there was hardly any conversation which was a mistake on my behalf, it’s not like the driver could sit anywhere else. Once I arrived at my hotel, the ‘Wyndham Garden Dusseldorf City Centre Koennigsalle’ I was greeted by a familiar face… the Rhein, but ...

... up again and we went for a bit of a tour of Dusseldorf. Hell of a different scene from Beijing that's for sure. Very nice, clean, tidy and German. We checked out the Altstadt area (old city) which is on the banks of the Rhine which is full of bars & restaurants with people spilling out onto the streets drinking beer, bad mouthing the French etc. We had a couple of beers and a meal then headed home and cashed by 9pm. ...
