Rude receptionists questioning our wealth (a.k.a. can we afford to stay there and for no obvious reason) and talking shit behind our backs and laughing at us etc. highly unprofessional things. Probably gave us the worst room with a long-ish walk to there and a dangerous bathroom. Luckily it was only for a little rest before the flight.

The Cathedral took 632 years to complete. During the war, 90% of the central city was destroyed. Eau de cologne was originated here in 1709 by the Farina family. They have excavated the Jewish settlement a little more than on my last trip and plan to open an underground museum within 2 years. We visited 7 Christmas markets as the weather was nice. Low 40s and breezy. We also went to the chocolate ...

... rude early morning start we were off to the meet & great at Stansted airport, a CSL service that neither of us had used before but I now thoroughly recommend to Stansted patrons. I worked at Stansted many years ago and cannot believe the changes, at first the new security area is daunting and intimidating at 0530. Thousands of Europeans, posh people with what seems to be a phobia of common folk (like me) and your Essex/London holiday maker all herded through a maze ...
