... we visited Monpazier, a small village of 500 or so people in the Dordogne area. It is a 13th century Bastide town founded and built by King Edward 1st of England. Eleanor of Aquitane and Richard 2nd of England also lived there for a while. This probably explains why their are so many poms living in this area - they are probably all descendants of the Kings! Also our getaway from Albi was thwarted by police having cutoff all access to the main bridge out of Albi, requiring us to do some brilliant navigating (by moi) to find an alternative route. Not sure what we would ever have done without 'City maps to go' with its off-line satellite mapping which tells us exactly where we are, and which direction we are going! ...

Well we are walking again....set off at 8:30.. Still just breaking dawn. After a nice breakfast of eggs and ham... An army marches on its breakfast...
