it was a nice weekend in the house of our friends we just readjust the living room into a caraokebar and taste a lot of bavarian beers. in the morning we get a real bavarian breakfast! It was delicious. Later on we drive to the south and throw some snowballs to eachother. That was fun.

Had a pretty lazy Sunday. I know that tomorrow is going to be very busy so I just wanted to relax today. Had apple strudel ala mode for lunch, haha. Then we had a turkish dish for dinner. It was chicken wings and sliced potatoes on a pan lightly smothered in tomato sauce with lots of spices and garlic. It was pretty good! ... and see the view. The spire was in the centre of the platform and it wasn't until we had walked around 3/4 of it that I noticed the stairs up the spire. So we climbed the narrow, winding steps to the very, very top. It was quite windy up there but wow what a spectacular view!

... a half inch thick. They were glazed and some had chocolate or nuts on them. I asked Nil and she said they are a typical sweet in Aachen, but expensive. I plan on trying one or at least taking a picture so you guys can see how different things like this are here. I’m not sure if they are really supposed to be eaten or just looked at, like those huge gingerbread cookies you can buy for someone’s birthday. Will let you know.

Hi everyone!

Well I made it to Germany! I am currently on the train from Dusseldorf to Aachen. It is 3:30AM Indiana time and 9:30AM Germany time. Needless to say, I am pretty tired, but I am going to keep kickin until I get to a place to set down my bags and relax.

The flight was actually pretty painless. I have flown to Europe and back twice, and this was my third journey to Europe, and definitely the best ...

I prepped for the trip while staying at my aunt’s place. Got camping gear, tools, and general stuff needed for the trip and most of the repairs I’d have to do along the way. (Or so I thought.)

... spend my time writing in my journal, planning trips or updating my blog site. About once a week I go grocery shopping at the supermarket located next to my apartment building. For dinner I normally have fruit, cherry tomatoes, a sandwich and soup (the fruit and cherry tomatoes are easy to prepare and sometimes I’m pretty lazy when it comes to my meals…). Then to bed around 9-10, rinse and repeat!
