Kition (Larnaca’s previous name – 13th Century BC) was the second home of Jesus’ friend Lazarus and he lived here for 30 years. His tomb is under the sanctuary but it is empty!!!! SIDE NOTE: I shared a coffee with my good friends at Imatech Larnaca and they filled me in on life in Cyprus which I really appreciate. Demitrios also pointed us to Zepyrios fish tavern which was the perfect seafood meze to complete our tour of Cyprus on our last day.

The trip home incudes a stop off in Dubai for a few days and we’ll be back on Wednesday sun kissed and reflecting on our eastern Mediterranean adventure. Look forward to catching up with you ...

... thro a number of dusty villages past Ercan airport. A quick pit stop in Erolku supermarket to pick up some candle holders Sarah had spotted a few weeks ago and a couple of other items to replenish the food cupboard. ... a drive in the hills to show our guests the stunning scenery. Lo ely drive along the mountain roads and weather had really cleared with not a cloud in the sky. Parked up in the picnic area and walked down to the Armenian Monastery. ... paid our entrance fee of 7TL, the guys looking after the place have a great job.....we were the only ones here. We suspect that as this is a greek church there are probably many greeks who come up to this place on certain saints or special days. After having a turkish coffee we looked aeound the church. The inside of the church was in good condition and there were many frescos on the walls and ceiling, it was a lovely place. After 30 mins we left and retraced our steps for a short way ...
