... hours with my host Nai and the italian guy he's also hosting (which I'm not a fan of). Nai is super nice but the Italian guy is a bit weird. It's all good, just not a fan..
Tomorrow afternoon I should be heading into Amsterdam.. Hopefully it won't be raining quite so much there.
Hi everybody!
Yesterday we went to a kite festival at the beach town of Scheveningen. It's just a few miles from The Hague, so we took the train to The Hague and then rode our bikes to the beach. Some of the kites were HUGE and many were multi ...
... was scorching by now! The walk over the beach from Noordijkerhout to Noordwijk is enjoyable and quiet and you get to pass at least one Nude beach so if you feel the need...we couldn't really swim, even if we'd still wanted coming out all green; the water was too cold, so we walked and collected shells. Entering Noordwijk we had some hardship finding a nice place to drench our thirst (something that wasn't exactly water)...I mean, you go the smallest, quietest ...
Noordwijkerhout, Netherlands verlanderIt came and went like nothing. I had been waiting 8 months for my journey in Amsterdam and the Low Countries, and after all is said and done it went by too fast and wasn't long enough. We started in Amsterdam 2 nights before the concert, none of us knowing where the hotel was rendering it difficult to meet one another. I was randomly yelling "Marco Polo" in the empty streets when I felt nearest to the hotel, and low and behold I actually found Jeff and Drew! While in the Dam we ...
Amsterdam, Netherlands jklegit13Hallo, What a crazy week it has been for Kyle and I!! I can't believe this is gonna go on for at least six months. Well, if we don't run out of money that is. We got to Ireland and were surprised at just how expensive everything was. Especially beer :-( Munich on the other hand is very affordable compared with Dublin. Dublin was amazing none the less. Unfortunately we had to stay at a real dump ...
Amsterdam, Netherlands rudeal... crowded even than Shanhai or Beijing. We finally pull over near a school and run out to get a better map, then figure out where we have to go. None of this is reflected in photos - I am too busy trying to figure out where we were to take pictures of strange places. Finally we went out way to the correct location, a one-way one lane street running along a canal --- ... and a miracle happens!!!! We find a parking space right ...
Amsterdam, Netherlands rindy... other art once again the girls were loving it. One of the girls even said to me i can tell you really love the arts and i was like hell yeah I'm a culture vulture and sensitive! but not Gay, i was quick to point that out. We occasionally separated but we were reassured of their keen ness as they kept looking around for us. After this museum we were a four some and walked to the Heineken Museum for a bit of banter. Things hit a all time high after the free beer and ...
Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands barber.timothy... that the most problem they have with drugs is from the foreigners who come and indulge. Amsterdam has been a great place to visit. We got caught in some rain storms but the weather is temperate. It is so easy to get around and people are very helpful. Many times store clerks spoke to us in Dutch..I guess we blend in. I am going to miss our relaxing times at the cafe..drinking coffee and eating chocolate truffles. Good bye Amsterdam!
Amsterdam, Netherlands debbiebentley... which is housed in the old Heineken brewery. As Paul pointed out, it's basically just their way of getting your money to subject you to their "propaganda"(ie. old commercials, the history of their brand, and of course a few healthy-sized samples of their product) but it's a pretty fun place to visit and there are lots of multi-media based attractions to keep you busy. We had lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe afterward (writing this has ...
Amsterdam, Netherlands lauramckenna... the hostel I stayed at in Amsterdam wasn't the greatest. It was expensive and rather institutional. Not a great vibe and during my stay I didn't meet up with anyone special, despite sleeping in a room designed for twenty people. Twenty people at 24euro a night per person brings in an impressive 480euro a night...or about $740 cdn...for ONE room. I think I was in the wrong line of work. That said, as a ...
