Many famous people have visited Taormina I discovered - DH Lawrence wrote "Lady Chatterley's Lover" here and Tenessee Williams stayed here. Audrey Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor and many famous movie stars visited back in the '60s. In more recent times a movie festival is held in Taormina each year.
