Lagos, Algarve, Portugal lymandannabelle... Imposing cliffs drop into the sea, and it has an "end of the world" feel to it. I forgot my camera, so you should just google some photos.

I returned to the hostel to check my emails. Good news for a change! I have a host in Seville through couch surfing, and a host in Badajoz willing to take me on for a couple weeks of olive picking. Life is good. I joined Kirsten for a celebratory beer, and a wander through the streets of Lagos.

Alvor, Algarve, Portugal sofenjon... not "surfers" but we we’re much less scared of getting tossed by the big waves this time. We also came to the conclusion that it maybe wasn’t us that, but that it’s the size of the board that was hindering our performance....

http://picasaweb.google.com/Jonny.D .Lawrence/20091011Sagres?authkey=Gv1sRg CMmMtI7egbGKvAE&feat=directlink
Portimão, Algarve, Portugal sofenjon... I had fun lugging my purchases back up the hill to the hostel. I think I drank almost half a litre of milk before I convinced myself to put it into the fridge to save for breakfast. Then I used the rooftop kitchen to make some yummy dinner and ate it out on the patio, chatting to some of the other people who were staying there. One thing about Lagos is that it is very windy. Annoyingly windy. I'm sitting up on the rooftop here writing this and everything is blowing around me. I ...

We got Monty ( or Dalrada Red Bonnet to give him his full title) just after we moved to Tarbert in December 2001. He loved Tarbert and particularly the hills around the village where he enjoyed chasing the wild deer. He and our previous Welsh Springer - Bernard - were great dogs to have on the West Coast. They were both great companions and ...

Finally we Ended up at the club we had gone to the night before, but this time we sat on the rooftop deck and talked. And even though it was great and I was having a fabulous time, there was a tinge of melancholy to everything. This was it. On the walk home it started to rain. I woke up the next day with the sun shining and feeling great. The eight of ...
