... They have hit the ground running, so to speak. There were only 4 of us at a table for 8 in the dining room. Day 2 was a formal night after a day in Naples. Too Much!! So we encountered our dining mates in the buffet. Day 3 we met another couple who brought our table up to 6. The waiter says he will give us more people.

We headed out of town to Achilleion Palace, the retreat for the Empress Elizabeth of Austria. We had learned about her life when we were in Vienna last year. She built this house in Corfu in late 19th century style and decorated it with Gods of Ancient Greece, primarily Achilles for which the palace is named. We arrived in Corfu in quite heavy rain. We had organized a hire car for €43 which was very reasonable, and decided we would continue on with our plans.
