There is a beautiful Amphitheatre next door to our hotel called Antiphellos. It was built of local limestone in the 1st century BCE, but was destroyed by an earthquake and rebuilt in the 2nd Century AD. It has 26 steps and faces the water. The only living things there today were two lovely billy goats basking in the sun. They were very curious!

The mountains are so rocky. The roads were good, but if you looked across at them you could see how they were cut into the hillside with huge drops below, littered with boulders!

Anna, a new teacher I recruited, arrived on Wednesday and I offered to house her until everything was settled with her flat, which was beneath mine.
