... the offseason price for the meal and wine was under $15 for 2 people.

We went to a maritime museum in the fort on the hill. It was simple but had a nice display about an Austrian passenger line (The Baron Gautsch) that was destroyed in the early days of WW1. The captain had been warned that the coast was just mined, but he disregarded the instructions and was sunk by a "friendly" mine ...

We caught a boat over to an island called Sv. Andrija which is only about twenty minutes away. A stunning island with beautiful trees, mainly pines, and a nature trail running all around it and a huge hotel plonked in the middle of it, spoiling the landscape!

... of Veal along with a small scoop of sautéed vegetables and mashed potato. Dessert was an Apple Strudel. The wine cost for me was HRK$ 45, which is about Cdn$ 9. It was a big meal and I was having trouble finishing it all. I've found that the elaborate and tasty group dinners on Rick Steves tours are one of the things I really look forward to.

One thing I noticed again tonight, was that our group dinners are a VERY noisy ...
