... relief was immediate. Once we had cooled off we had lunch and another dip and continued on towards Croatia. Its been confirmed that Anton and Jane are flying into Split on the 11th August so we decided to get there and stop a couple of days before they arrive. With a fear of a large fine if you don't buy a sticker for your windscreen for the toll roads in Slovenia we purchased a 30 Euro Sticker to drive a whole 10km on the motorway. Ridiculous. On arriving at the Croatian boarder ...

... informed reception we were moving (who all of a sudden noticed us) and left as fast as our car would take us 1km down the Promenade to Hotel Marita. You would have thought we entered another country, the people were welcoming, they could not have done enough for us. It felt like a hotel and they had a bar that was open before 5pm!!

We have spent a couple of wonderful days by the pool, we have taught the barman to make frozen ...

The landscape is pretty; different from the other countries. Very rugged. They like tunnels more than switchbacks & mountain roads. We went through quite a few tunnels today, including one that was 5 km long! While the temperatures are high, at least we are on the coast and their is generally a decent ...

Day 4 of Croatia was spent swimming and snorkeling on a popular island called Brijuni. Hours of fun in the sun and truly relaxing! The weather has been in the 90's every day. Took the water taxi back and forth to the mainland. Went home for a couple hours and headed back downtown for shopping and dinner. The food is very different here, it's been kind of hit or miss. Often difficult to read the menus in Croatian but overall has been pretty ...

Went on a road trip to a natural spring mineral river near the village of Roć down a narrow mountain road that was just wide enough for one vehicle, scared the hell out of LeeAnn , to discover no water in the river! It was in a tiny village that was 250 years old. Met a family from Slovenia that insisted we stay and have homemade schnapps and wine, very good. They recommend a great authentic Croatian restaurant on the top of a mountain that was excellent! Returned to Pula at dark. ...
