From Pula we head back north up the west coast of the peninsula, sticking to roads that keep us in sight of the sea, looking for a likely camping ground.

We we soon find it at Camping Colone. May sound a bit arsey but it's a cracking spot. Camping places are strung along a 2 or 3 ...

... I felt like I was in a dream land. I am always so blown away when considering the history of these places I've visited. Stayed at a place with a vineyard and a pool. I spent most of my time tanning, swimming, eating and drinking. Doesn't surprise you, does it? Lol. This part of Croatia is known for truffles, which are dug up by trained dogs. ... so were tall. The Romans brought olive trees & vines to Pula & they are very evident today. Sitting in the Colosseum was a thrilling experience. From Pula we took the train to Lapograv then bus through to Rijeka. ... lady spent nearly an hour on the phone finding us an alternative- an apartment with a terrace 8 minutes walk from town. The Neighbourhood was quieter- no tattoo parlour, sex shop or brothel next door. We have learnt fairly quickly to smile, shrug our shoulders if things go pear - shaped & then we get all sorts of help & this was no exception.

We had an early morning (7am) rise in order to make the lift that the hostel had arranged for us to Pula. This lift was a dream and only cost 7Euros each. I (Sam) even managed to watch a film in the back of the retired guys brand new Golf!
