I went to visit Barcino

Last Saturday I went with some friends to visit the roman city of Barcelona. I have never visited it and was very interesting. I didn't know that the forum was more than two Saint Jaume's square size.

We visited different parts of the roman city like the wall, the vestiges of August temple or the structures of villas and hot baths. We followed the information panels were were some tricks of ...

I thought I ordered Pig's Feet

... music with visuals of people eating colored spaghetti. Trust me, weird. Some really cool stuff, overall. Also, we got lucky because on Wednesday's, for reduced entry fee, you can visit every level.

Of course, we were ready to eat so we decided to check out a recommendation from our guide book. We found L'Havana, which despite the odd name, is supposed to have ultra traditional Catalan cuisine at cheap prices. It was ...

Barcelona weather

Barcelona has a Mediterranean climate, with sub-Mediterranean influence, which makes it not to be the "classical Mediterranean climate" with mild, humid weather and warm, dry summer. Because the city is located in Iberian Peninsula, the usual west wind, specially in winters, which cause the wet climate in many places of western Europe, arrive in Barcelona with low humidity producing no rain. The summer is not ...

She's a Travelin' Lady

... for almost two months now and that was a strange thought... although living a pedestrian life you really do see a lot more, at least in terms of the surroundings. Autumn is proving to be gorgeous here but I find myself missing that crisp, cold, slighty wood-chippy smokiness of the Northwest that always comes with the fall... I hope everyone reading this is well and having a terrific day!! I miss you all and am sending my best. Love, Anna.

A Day On My Own

... alittle cranky at the slow starts to the day. I mean, I am in Barcelona, I can sleep at home anytime!!! I showered and dressed and walked out the door and everything was still quiet as a church mouse. No One had stirred. I was a bit irritated at Jer for not going with me at first, as he was the one who promised he´d get me back to the museum when I was gutted the first time I didn´t get to go, but once I got going, I realised I really ...

... of their wonderful trip will be drinking, drinking, and more drinking. So we finally got to Barcelona and found our little budget hotel, which turned out to be beautiful and wonderfully located right beside Las Ramblas. We cleaned up and asked for a recommendation for good paella. The restaurant had three types of paella- seafood, vegetable, and house. We decided to share a house paella without asking what was in it. We figured that ...

Barcelona

Hello everyone, sorry it has been a few days, but Barcelona has been more than interesting. We got here two nights ago, on the 4th. We were then supposed to leave on the 5th for Pamplona, meeting up with some people we met in Munich for the running of the bulls. Didn't quite work out however. It was just too difficult. The way the days worked out, we would have had next to no time in Barcelona, which was one of the cities we had really wanted to see ...
