... visit to Mozart's birthplace stood at the top of our list today. We learned, in fact, about not only Mozart, but also about the sites in and around Salzburg that were used in Sound of Music! This juncture was one of many surprises today, which we let happen to ourselves as we are focusing on "Sounds of Home" material for our students and their preparation to travel to Salzburg in the summer ...

This entry is coming one day late because somehow my post from yesterday got lost in the virtual world - not sure if I am in love with travelpod so far, but I suppose it will do. :) So, yesterday! In addition to introducing the students to our schools and to our hometown, Cleveland/Bradley County, TN, we taught the students the song "Rocky Top Tennessee" and a line dance. We had a ton of fun but also some serious discussions with the students ...

From here we travel in the historic Majestic Emperor train to Salsberg. The train is very ornate and gives you an idea of what it was like to travel in style so many years ago. We had a coach trip around the city and then a walking tour followed by 2 hours free time. We had ...

0 km, (1045km total) 12-17deg, cloudy with the odd bit of drizzle, glimpses of the sun. The last time Greg was here was 2009 on the way from Amsterdam to Vienna with his cycling buddy Graham W. It's much busier now with a lot more people and traffic, both on the river and the roads. Lucky for us we have bike paths, but today we are on foot. Mick's phone started having issues yesterday so it was off to the phone ...
