    After researching and seeing pictures of Hallstatt while planning for our trip, I immediately knew it would be one of my favorites, and it did not disappoint. Autumn colors were at their peak (totally unplanned - we thought we'd be too late) and the trees filled the landscape to compliment the mountains and lakes.     ... walk and the following day a cycle to St Gilgen town and further along the lake shore. I still take great delight in my “new” bicycle.

    Salzburg was good too. We met Dawn at the airport and went to explore the charming old town. Even in the rain it has something special – like hot chocolate, lovely buildings and the riverside walk fringed in autumn glory.
