... alternatives...it was crazy. Thanfully I had brought with me a reasonably good German road map and managed to navigate us back onto more major routes. I'm sure that somebody had once told me that the German auto-bahns were good but there were very little dual carriageways or the like. I was ready to chuck the satnav out the window and resorted to navigating by the map alone. ... one in which I was disappointed. I purchased some Zuckermais (sweet corn) at the grocery. It was pre-packaged, shucked corn-on-the-cob that was ready to prepare. I boiled it as I would at home and found it to not be particularly soft-textured and it also lacked any real flavor—not sweet by any means.

On Sunday I stayed at the apartment until late-afternoon nursing my mild case of the sniffles, which I determined later in the week to be a mild sinus infection. I then returned to the Markt and sampled several samples of wine. I actually purchased a bottle of one of the wines that I had liked from Saturday. I was able to find my way home without any problem, so I guess that I didn't exceed my recommended consumption.
