... nice and made me feel good. Then, when I was cooking some dinner, she came up and gave me a blanket, sheet set, and some tea candles. She also has given Nil a wooden spoon, a strainer, and two dish towels for me. Isn't that sweet??? I thanked her tons and gave her a hug when she left. So now I have a few less items to buy to make my new place feel like home.
Well Nil just got home and she is going to eat a bit of food with Markus and ...
... and got a few things checked off of the list: Met with the rental guy and looked at the apartment and took some pictures of the apartment, then went to the bank and finished my damage deposit account and set it up so my rent will automatically be paid on the last day of every month.
I decided that I won't be able to go to Oktoberfest, at least not in Munich this year, anyway. I will try to go to another festival somewhere ...
... use my fingers to eat wings, but other than that, very delicious.
Tomorrow I have to:
1. get up and go get my apartment looked at by the rental agency to make sure of the apartment's condition so they can ensure that the room is returned in the same condition
2. go to the electric company and sign up so I can have power at my new place
3. go to the bank and finalize my damage ...
After popping into and out of Germany, we were now back in Belgium. It was beginning to get a bit dark, and we still had at least 200 miles left to drive.
Gaz's motor was struggling, and threatening to overheat, so we stopped to let it cool down.
With the vehicles all decorated with stickers, we attracted a bit of attention, and a Belgian couple took our ...
... on.
We stopped at one point, because the roadbook wasn't very clear, at which point Gaz and Charlotte came up behind us. They had been left behind by the V8s, as they were in a Series vehicle, so we said we'd stick with them.
At this point, Kieran noticed a strange noise from our engine, which was duly investigated by James. It was diagnosed as the fan belt tensioning pulley. But we didn't do anything about it at the time.
... Markus are going to a friend's house for dinner, so I am going to through a raging party here. HAHA. Not really, who would I even invite? Guess I could go get some people off the street and bring them up, doesn't that sound like fun? :/
Actually tonight at St. Elisabeth there is an organ/sax concert that I read about in the paper, and I was planning on going to that. Sounds like it could be interesting. I ...
... bread that I brought. The bus ride this morning was OK. I was too tired to get out my computer and write my blog, but hopefully I will get used to waking up early and be more functional in the mornings. The bus is also kind of crowded; there are kids getting on and off going to school. The students ride the public transportation here; they don’t have separate school buses.
So far I have seen a 5th grade and a ...
We 'trundled down past Maastricht towards Germany. The deviations were big ones but we still were able to make good time! The scenery was worth the deviations though. We past by some wonderful little towns and river gorges. Very nice bit of countryside. Will have to return there sometime, God willing!
... so there were a lot of people out. There were a bunch of hobos and street preformers and we had a good time during the day. after we ate some brauts, most of our group caught a bus back early and Merdith and i decided to stay a few more hours. We went to a buddha bar for a mojito and by the time we found the bus stop, we missed the last bus to maastricht, then we missed the last bus to the train station so we walked to the train station and missed the ...
Aachen, Germany sarahjerger... is most famous for its gigantic cathedral called the "Dom," so we had to see it. We arrived around 1, and luck was with us, because the cathedral was only blocks from the train station. We visited it, ate at a cafe, and continued on to Maastricht. We got to the southern Dutch city in the late afternoon, got a place to stay, and heading into the city center. There was a big summer festival going on; there must have been forty or fifty groups of these samba drum bands ...
