... sunshine, and 'who cares attitute' into the place (not literally mind- im not mother teresa), and i think towards the end, when id overcome a bit of the language barrier, i saw a little light at the end of a very dark tunnel.
I'm kidding of course, i am not claiming by any stretch, to be a messiah sent from above, and nor do i dislike france or the french(ive got good french friends) but sometimes after a little too much cheese and wine, it can start to go moldy very quicky.

Toulouse, Midi-Pyrénées, France ashstmartin... of a different shape and size.

Then Matthieu took me to visit the botanical gardens with several roses of red, orange, peach, pink and yellow in bloom. Kids ran through the grass and a man played the accordian providing a typical French atmosphere. I joined him for tea at his place nearby then went on my merry way. I visited Tiphaines orchestra practice where she plays clarinet then we went to a party where the kids again sang their schools fight songs ...

Toulouse, Midi-Pyrénées, France marianmWe were up at 9 am and showered and ready to go by 10 am. We said goodbye to our host and made our way out of town. We were preparing ourselves for a day full of driving. We stopped and purchased some breakfast items and items for lunch on the road. We stopped in Montelimar for some nougat. That is what this town is famous for. Conrad spent about 30 minutes there b/c they had wi-fi, so he mapped where we were going. We were on the road again (just ...
Toulouse, Midi-Pyrénées, France thematts... was town after town with no countryside in between. No towns seemed to offer any campsites or accommodations (other than hotels). After about 90km I was done. We’d done so much yesterday I was starting to feel it. So tonight, our bed is in a ditch in the middle of a cloverleaf joining several roads together. Perhaps I have more in common with the people in Tolouse than I thought.
Noé, Midi-Pyrénées, France 2totango... 8216;rough’ night. The canal was filled with people taking their after work stroll or cycle so there was no way we could stop.

Still we were both scanning the countryside and banks of the canal looking for an appropriate plate to set up camp. But being too busy, we pressed onward. In between towns, we also were running into the problems of no place being remote enough. We weren’t going to ...
Montech, Midi-Pyrénées, France 2totango... awful that I am so awful at the language, but I do try. Mike and I both do, but the sounds of French are difficult to master if you’ve never had much exposure to it. Even if the phrase book has phonetically spelled words, it still never comes out the way it really is supposed to. We’ll keep trying… But, thanks to all those French folks that just smiled politely and answered us back in English.

Toulouse ...
Toulouse, Midi-Pyrénées, France mollyandmikeuk... hitch hiking success to Andorra tomorrow. I am sceptical. We have a chilled out evening, playing cards and watching a Canadian comedian. I find it strange how many of the French watch English speaking programmes, but I suppose that's why the speak English and I don't speak French. Although they did mention they had to watch the show maybe 6 times before they got all the jokes, and yes there were some about the English. Har har. I quickly fall to sleep during the film we watch practically in ...
Toulouse, Midi-Pyrénées, France sian_ripleyThe karma wouldn't shake off, because it followed me out of Paris. At the train station, while picking up my train tickets, I waited in line and listened to some man continually yell at some poor ticket lady because he missed his train. I didn't listen to the rest, but whatever was wrong, it was an omen for my lovely train trip! I found my train, sat down, and started to relax. The train from Paris to Toulouse takes 6 hours, so I had plenty of time to chill ...
Toulouse, Midi-Pyrénées, France erinkoval... tour of the city center of Toulouse including inside the Capitole. That night he attended a fabulous concert on the Place du Capitole in honor of the opening of a new metro station. He says he has been eating very well, mostly outdoors on the patio and even had a crepe w/ strawberry sauce "en ville". Natasha was able to do her favorite activity = shopping! She and Margaux and her host mom went shopping ...
