... Jardin des Plantes, very close to the railway station, with some huge examples of topiary and slightly bizarre artwork. What was noticeable about the garden, considering the proximity to the station, were the lack of down and outs using park benches as a bed as may have been expected - the one we saw seemed happy sat outside the station café drinking an espresso. Maybe they just have a better class of homelessness in Nantes?
Our first super long train ride of the trip. The ride from Paris to Nantes seemed to take more time than physically possible. Once in Nantes we had a layover before our next train ride and were able to explore a absolutely gorgeous park. You can look at the photos and let your imagination fill in the rest.
So with clean bikes and clean, warm everything, a pizza for dinner and wine which Claude produced for us, we were very happy little cyclists indeed and delighted to have another experience at 'The Blue Windows'. On our departure next morning we felt like we were leaving old friends as they once again came out to farewell us.
