... Liityttiin heidän pöytäseuraansa ja juteltiin ummet ja lammet aina talvisodasta Albanian historian kautta futikseen ja otettiin pari tuopposta. Pariskunta ja heidän kaverinsa ovat lähdössä alkuviikosta vuokra-autolla kiertelemään Etelä-Albaniaan ja kutsuivat minutkin mukaansa. Mutta katsellaan miten heidän autonvuokrausprojektinsa onnistuu ja miten omat aikatauluni menevät heidän kanssaan. Kaikki on vielä tätä kirjoitettaessa auki, joten katsellaan mistä päin päivittelen seuraavaksi.

... Orthodox Church was full to overflowing; all the other churches appeared to be locked up tight. The citadel was locked too, shiny new padlocks on the new wooden doors. The narrow lanes are paved with polished limestone and were very slippery where wet. I wonder how many older people especially, slip and break bones on these stones.

During Communist rule in Albania their prime minister built concrete bunkers all over the place in case of invasion - and he made them out of concrete - also to deter invasion he stopped repairing roads - therefore taking a massive 50 seater coach along Albanian roads in the dark with trainee drivers who are tired is not for the faint hearted - we had a few sickies that night thats for sure!!
