30 minutes later we arrived in Durres. We caught a taxi from the bus station to Sotmir's place where I will be staying for two nights. His parents, Petro and Eva grew up under the old regime and got the truth in ...

In the town of Lezhe we went and looked at the tomb of Skanderbeg, he is a local hero. Born George Kastrioti, the son of an Albanian prince he was handed over to the Turks as a hostage when we was a child and brought us a Moslem. Educated at a military establishment he attained the rank of ‘Bey’ and changed his name to something that resembles ...

... times and in the end, we needed six separate locals to give us the complete set of directions to the Tirana bus stop. We chucked our bags into the luggage hold and the bus driver then disappeared. We waited next to the bus stop for 10min before we decided to sit at the restaurant next to the bus and have a coffee while we kept an eye out for our driver.

We’d ordered drinks before the four of us realised that none of ...
