Woke up to more rain which pretty much carried on all day. Being that most of the sites in Albania that we wanted to see were beaches, we decided to carry on driving North going slightly inland. At one point we came to a highway (well Albanians version), to get on to it we had to drive on a dirt track, which seemed rather odd, but then we remembered where we were!
Shacks on the side of the road with people selling vegetables, which we presume they also live in.

... lunch before we go to the hotel. It is well into the afternoon but Klodi swings up a side street and takes us to a restaurant were we have a lunch and then he takes us to the hotel and says he will see us tomorrow to take us to the airport.

Our flight leaves at 2:20 and he said 1:20 would be plenty of time but I asked to be there at 1 to give us a little safety so he ...

Disco music thumps, playing early 80's tunes, and gentle waves lap the sandy shore on a totally deserted beach. Well not quite deserted – a bored security guard eyes the beach up and down.

Our group of 27 enjoyed having the place to ourselves. There seems to be no other guests in this beach front holiday accommodation. The "resort" served us a meal of salad, chicken breast and mashed potato then set the disco music free on us. Whilst it was a minor ...

In the town of Lezhe we went and looked at the tomb of Skanderbeg, he is a local hero. Born George Kastrioti, the son of an Albanian prince he was handed over to the Turks as a hostage when we was a child and brought us a Moslem. Educated at a military establishment he attained the rank of ‘Bey’ and changed his name to something that resembles ...
