... after Ebesan, we encountered this new highway our campsite man had spoke of, brand spanking flash as four lane job that tommy had no idea about. I can appreciate how rough it would have been without considering we went through a 2.3km tunnel at one point under a very high mountain range. It didn't last the whole way as part was still under construction but made for surprisingly present ride to Tirana anyways. The city was another story. We ...

... along Lake Ohrid which borders Albania and Macedonia is on the other side of the lake. IF ONLY, we had skipped Saranda and just gone over this way and popped into Macedonia. Oh well. Always easier to design a trip after you have done it.

Sadly we have left Rome. Our last night though was very special, we decided to treat ourselves to a dinner at the restaurant below our apartment and ordered whatever we liked taking no notice of price. It was nice to not worry about it for once. Luke had spaghetti with mussels and I had pasta with pesto and prawns, followed by a salami calzone. They were the best meals we had in Italy and we absolutely stuffed ourselves.

The next day we caught the train down ...

... One consists of a pyramid shaped rock on top of which there is a small church. I wonder how many worshipers can make it up that rock to church.

At Stari Bar (star means old) we climbed around the partly reconstructed fortress and old walled town. With a burst of enthusiasm that lasted long enough to put up some signs and do a bit of rebuilding this reconstruction project started in 1985, had come to a stop. I think it’s a long time ...
