Left Albuquerque for Amarillo, Texas and indeed there is a whole lot of land and a few cattle. Cattle need 50 acres/cow to live here while1 acre/cow is enough in Europe: miles of not a lot. Total confusion today as the clocks changed plus we have moved through time zones - we could get the minutes right but the hours were + or- 3. Lunch or afternoon tea? Stopped for a coffee in a roadside cafe - ...

Every so often there’s a rattle of metal in the distance, a little dog yips, its echoes barely registering. Tiny birds swiftly fly and dive around me, eluding full-sight, rather giving off only glimpses out of the corner of my eyes. A car intermittently starts and crunches the gravel as it wheels along, then is gone. A question popped into my mind: Have you ...

Once there was a man who collected windmills and people came from miles around (even from as far away as Canada) to ooh and aah at his collection of more than 50 windmills.

And then he sold them to the city of Portales, and they took the windmills, and put them behind a barbwire-topped fence and ...

... Tx for some grilled Talopia fish and veggies and a live band called the O's. Good blues and soul type music. No one dances, but it's good listening music and the 2 guys were quite talented on many instruments. Next weekend is the "Save Second Base Festival" for breast cancer where there will be many bands and events at the fairgrounds. I believe we are going so that will be a great attraction and cause to ...
