... fairly easy as we sailed in amongst the islands of Greece to our mooring point at Argostoli.
Apparently the whole township of Argostoli was destroyed by and earthquake in 1953, except for two buildings. In addition, substantial damage was previously done to it by German bombings in 1943 during the second World War. It has all been rebuilt now and appears to be a lovely, pristine ocean side township. Thereafter we followed the road to the northwest tip of the island, where we discovered a beautiful deserted beach called Panormos with a small church behind it. In the cliffs beside the beach there were many caves where goats and sheep were seeking shelter from the sun.
Haris and I had a swim in the refreshing sea, with the beach just for us alone. What a wonderful day.
This morning we set off for a little beach just outside Chania for a few hours of relaxation before a late lunch at Johnny's aunt's house. Lunch was in the village, and again under a beautiful canopy of grape vines that kept you very cool and comfortable.
