This morning I woke up feeling great, not the same story for everyone else after last night. The morning was nice and relaxed which we all needed. It was a good day to hang around the hostel as the wind was relentless. After a late gyros lunch our group walked down to the beach to go speed boating. Our first stop was at a small cave in the middle of no where. We had to swim from the boat which was about 40m away. I was ...

... community along the one main road. The sight was fantastic and the view was great. The sand was that squeaky white stuff that I loathe so much but the water was incredible yet again. ... a swim at the hot springs. Unfortunately you had to swim about 20metres through water of about 21 degrees to get to the springs. We were warned that any white costumes would subsequently be orange and if we had recently had our hair bleached blonde there was a serious risk it may turn green from the sulphur.
Rami and Tiff set off. I tested the water but piked out. The springs are apparently still only about 26 degrees ...

... of the donkeys ferrying tourists up and down the steps. Donkey motivs appear all around Fira town and stuffed donkey toys, tea-towels and other junk are in all the shops. The tinkle of donkey bells can be heard echoing up from the steps from early morning into the evening.

We walk down to take a tour out to the volcano centre and the reality of life for donkeys on the steps becomes depressingly clear. When they are not hauling overfed tourists up ...
