Good points:
Spacious apartment, with reasonable amenities.
Not bad when you consider what else is on offer locally.
Convenient location (if you want to be close to the "action")
Bad points:
Lost power (and hotel generator) for >5 hours on day of arrival due to bad weather
Lumpy pillows, bed like concrete
Towels in need of replacement
No linen change in 1 week stay.
Building work adjacent to apartment.
Turn right out of the complex and expect to be hassled by idiots selling scratch cards, timeshare etc
Places to eat:
Tamariz - very reasonable authentic portuguese fare.
La Rancha - Smoky....check out their Gaucho Grill, if you love meat and have a big appetite
Wild & Co. - don't be fooled by the exterior, this is a seriously cool restaurant with service and cuisine to match. Probably best without the children.
Capoeira (Sizzling Stone) - novel concept of cooking your own meal on sizzling hot stone at the table. Bib provided.
I reckon the Ouratlantico takes on a different feel during the summer months, so I don't want to be too harsh as the staff there are very helpful and it is one of the most convenient locations in Albufeira to use as a base.
Absolutely the best holiday i've ever had!

This holiday at the ouratlantico was amazing. It was spotlessly clean, the pool was fantastic, staff were always helpful, the room was pristine, there weren't any disruptions and it was brilliant! i would by far reccomend this hotel to anyone looking for anything from a quiet romance to a fun filled family holiday! There is just a five minute walk to the lively strip-yet none of the noise travels to the appartments-where you can find bars and shops and you know the rest! when you are booking DONT flick past the ouratlantico page because belive me... you'll be missing out!!!
Great Holiday

We have just come back from Portugal. We Stayed in the Ouratlantico Apts, we had a studio Apt which was a nice size very clean. We had a great holiday Im definitely going to go back, The Apts are central to the strip but away from the hussel and bussle of the night lift. Make sure you eat in a Restraunt called WILD & CO the food is FAB well worth a visit. The Apts are a 5 minute if even to the amazing beach.
What a lovely hotel

we have just got back from a week in the Ouratlantico and it was lovely. The rep was very good and very easy to talk to.One day the fridge door fell off and it was fixed with ten mins,Our room number was 56 and the balcony is brill but the wall around it was very low so i told the rep and the next day the men came around and put up a metal barrier up which was very good. The night life is just around the corner from the hotel. The only thing i would say that is not very good is that the hotel bar is very boring and not many people eat or drink there. The rooms are very clean and all the staff are nice, just make sure you get up so you can get a sunbed.
First class apts

first class apts, had studio above supermarket plenty of space and very clean. situated in side street very quiet but close to the lively strip and only a short taxi ride to the old town. Try Bravos in old town great steaks and wonderful atmosphere in the square. Steep hill to beach but worth the walk.
Great band in Wild & co corner of strip. Will definately be going back.
Fantastic place to stay

My fiance and I have just returned from a weeks stay here and we loved it. We had a ground floor studio apartment which had a lovely terrace and meant we could wander straight to the outdoor pool. The whole complex was very clean and well maintained and the staff always friendly and helpful. As it is located off the strip there is no noise at night to disturb you. The complex is just the right size and you never feel crowded even in the height of summer.
I would certainly recommend the ouratlantico as a great place to stay and would be very happy to return there again next year.
If you do go to the old town at night make sure you check out the alcafe as it is a great place to chill out away from all the very touristy bars.
Just right....

Myself, my husband and daughter stayed here for a week in November 2004. Booked last minute as a Winter break. We were pleasanly surprised! The apartments are spotlessly clean, although very very quiet. I think most people staying in November were retired couples, there for the winter. The apartments are located 5 minutes walk away from the 'Strip', which is probably heaving in the Summer, but was just right for us.
There are some great restaurants just up the road, try the Sizzling Stone for the best steak meal ever! Brought to you raw, you cook your own meat to your own taste. Superb! And try Portofino if you like fish..the swordfish in garlic was wonderful!
There are some good bars, which didn't mind us bringing our little one in at all! We karaoked till the early hours on one occasion!
All the staff we met at the apartments were friendly. The indoor pool is like a bath, it's so warm! No food available onsite, just a tiny shop (overpriced!) but close enough to shops not to matter at all.
Just beware of all the stray cats! If you don't feed them, they go away!

Loved the Ouratlantico

From the moment of arrival one knew it was a well ran place. Why? My room was ready at 1030 hrs. This is a 3 star hotel that could be a 4 but doesn't have in house restaurant or entertainment facilities, but the service is 4 star. Exceptionally clean, well run, organized, efficient. An example, my fridge was obviously kaput and smelled of fish, a new one was installed within an hour, a circuit breaker had popped. Cleaning staff friendly and caring. In the hotel, studio, 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom are available. Mine was a studio with a patio right beside the pool and perfect for sun bathing and people watching. Facilities are an indoor pool, very warm and a jacuzzi and sauna. A tennis court, a mini mart, a snack bar, a games room, satellite TV. This is all within less than 500 meters of The Strip or Santa Eulalia. There is some construction going on but they are mindful of the hours of regulation. The Strip is too far away to hear any noise, and the only thing that wakes you up are the birds singing in the morning.Would definitely go back and would definitely recommend it to my friends
