Last day!

Spent the afternoon playing games with D & B and then went to pack. We were going to go for a walk but decided not to chance it.

... as it took us a decent hour just to walk around the whole thing. Lots of old cannons still in their spots from years ago and some blow holes in the middle which was good fun to stand over. After all this we had an amazing Italian dinner and were even given a free glass of port each which was rather tasty – great way to start the trip!

See nn eelroog maksab ka alati midagi. Me saatsime koheselt oliivid tagasi, kuna me neid ei söö.

Noi comunque siamo in regola. Un ultimo giro per Faro, cosa che ci riserva due sorprese: la prima è l' incontro con una vecchia Fiat ...

    Nice place but

    from anonymous

The staff were very friendly at the hotel, the appartments are basic enough, beds were very uncomfortable though:- need to be upgraded. The pool is not suitable for toddlers, but for children form about 6 up. The local restaurants were lovely, its an ideal base to visit Albulferia, Villamora etc. The beach is small but not busy which was great. In general the area is cheap, the beer is really chep in Olhag, once you get into Albuferia, be prepared to pay more for everything.

Loved it will be going back again and again and again....

    from anonymous

this was our first holiday abroad and were sceptical to start with fearing the worst but when we arrived we soon changed our minds. Yes there were some things needing a bit of attention but we went out of season so expected this and could see work was being done in the hotel (painting, light maintenance etc. nothing that disturbed us) the staff and locals were really friendly, the apartment clean and well equiped. The food was excellent (found a great restaurant round the back of the Cantina that served traditional food and could always find something we liked). we will go back again and will recommend you all try at least once. We did two tours, one to the historical Algarve and the other to the Gypsy market in Quintera would recommend them both but stay away from the stalls selling Gold!

    Anwser to oceanus cr*ap attitude

    from alfa

the worst place I have ever been!!!!

the reception man was very arrogante whenI asked him about some restaurants in the village by the beach because we had a wonderfull night there good food and good wine with a wonderfull sea view terrace the name is PICCOBELLO and the service was five star but this reception man said very bad things about other places in olhos agua only his cr*p cantina was good , it was a horrible conversation never back again unless he is fired !!!!

    Clean clinical and ideal

    from sean

Clean and clinical ideal spot for a base. Spent a week here 10th-17th Oct. so you can appreciate that it would not be as crowded. Would agree with other favourable reviewers. Large appartments, good maid service, good and cheerful reception staff. Bar tender talkative and pleasant. Outdoor swimming pool ideal-get a bed close to the snack bar so you will not be in the shade later on. Did not have time to use indoor pool. Snack bar handy and adequate-although we only had drinks. Did usual touristry things-Portuguese night, visit end of world and top of world, markets and Fatima. Agree with reviewers about the hill up and down to the beach. Ate in Cantini-good service and reasonable food, but waited an hour for main course, Fratelli's Italian-no hanging about, quick and no frills, good food, vegetarian lasagne to die for, Blues bistro on way down hill-very good food and service in a cosy atmosphere, Casa del font (Albufeira-near tunnel) good ambiance, excellent food and service. The 3 palms on the way into Albufeira was also recommended but again no time. Found Olhos D'Agua ideal for what we wanted at this time of year. A quiet holiday where you mixed with the locals and visited restaurants for different food.

    Couldn't fault it..

    from anonymous

Visited the Oceanus for 2 weeks in June 2004. Large, cool and well-equipped apartments. Lovely staff throughout the complex from reception to daily maid service.

Food available at the Snack Bar till 8PM but La Cantina restaurant adjacent is also superb and their steak on the stone should not be missed.

Lovely clean pool and garden area was a very popular alternative to the beach.

Everyone staying in the resort at this time was either on their repeat trip or vowed to return.

Ideal for families and couples. Though local bars not hectic so wouldn't be great for those looking for a wild social life, that said a 5 minute cab would get you to The Strip.

    Highly recommend resort and accomodation.

    Little slice of paradise

    from anonymous

Our first time at the Oceanus was June/July 2003 and what a fantastic place to visit and are due to go back this June/July again. The staff were the most helpful that I have encountered in many years of travel, the apartments were of a superb Quality also the pool area was first class and very child friendly and they also had a pool snack bar with the crazy Mr Chips "as we called him" who was excellent also there is an excellent array of restaurants to choose from within 10 mins walk. We also used to frequent a bar under the snack bar with Walter and Jean who also were excellent. The beach is approx 10 mins walk but watch out for cardiac hill but there is a more gentle walk back and add 5 mins onto your journey.

I would recomend this place and apartments to anyone most people that we met while we were there have been several times before.

    Enjoy

    Loved it

    from anonymous

We loved the apartment, the small village location and its proximity to other larger towns when we needed them. Good bus connections. Lovely beach. Friendly locals. The indoor swimming pool was a plus in February.

    Been there twice now

    from anonymous

returned to the oceanus in august 2003 like i said and it was just as good as i remember. the whole place was just as nice as i remember if not then better. new on site snack bar was helpful and served excellent ice creams and drinks for by the pool. friendly staff and maids all the3 time- daily maid service. all restraunts v.lovely but a bit too pricey sometimes. the beach front has now been renevated and has steps which is qiute classy althogh when we went before there was a lovely open air restraunt right on the sea front and we were upset to find it is now boxed in and doesnt serve particulaly good food at very expensive prices. chinese next to hotel was fab and resonable prices, zoomarine was excellent- totally worth it in every way!! aqualand was good fun too and definatly worth a trip into town centre one night.

    overall a great holiday- again!

    Loved the oceanus

    The Best Yet

    from anonymous

Stayed at The Oceanus Apartments in June 2002 for two weeks. It's in a lovely wee fishing village called Olhos D'Agua. Loved the place so much we went back in October for a week. Going back again this year in June for two weeks. It's quiet but just outside the apartments are the bus stops for Vilamoura one way and Albufiera the other way. Also Holidays Bar/Restaurant owned by Alan & Jenny is the best place to go for food, drink & entertainment. You must give it a try. We highly reccommend it.
