    Day 6

A travel blog entry by valepark2 on Feb 03, 2015

Another sunless, windy and very cool day It would be even worse were it not for the organised coach trips and entertainment put on by the hotel. The trip was again up into the mountains. This time the centre of interest was goat farming and the production of goat's cheese. A topic that has always been at the top of our "need to ...

    Day 5

Moving day, and it was another miserable one The Sun didn't appear and the wind continued to blow. The temperature was supposed to be 20C but it felt much lower. There used to be some groundwater and precipitation, but now there's just year-round sunshine and hardly any rain. Water comes from desalination, powered by wind turbines.

This volcanic island was granted Biosphere Reserve status by UNESCO in 2009. ...

    Gran Tarajal, Fuerteventura

A travel blog entry by bollinger_babe on Jan 30, 2014

... the two quizzes our team had won; we managed to pick up a Fred Olsen Cruise Lines coffee mug.

In the Neptune Lounge we collected a free glass of ‘champers’ (not so exciting any more when it’s all free) while listening to the Braemar Orchestra. Then Captain ‘Bent Over’ arrived and made a little speech to summarise this cruise; he commented on the weather and sea conditions and remarked that the wind ...
