... having a beer and watching a man try to dig his van out of the snow. To my knowledge his van is to this moment where it was when I left the bar.
I just wanted to take this opportunity to post some pictures of Canillo when it's snowy and the sun comes out. Don't have too many, but figured it was worth a post.
... waiting for him too. Probably not, but he was still a hero in my book.
We finally arrived at my destination at about 8:30am, and I proceeded to try to get my bearings in a new place. I was surprised at how quiet everything was, and also by the fact that most of the shops were still closed at close to 9 on Saturday. A few hours later I realized this little town doesn't really get started until about 9:30 or 10. Never ceases to amaze me as the ...
... and hand hold. Until you get to the point where you can’t seem to make a move at all. Limbs getting sore and there’s no place to set your foot, and no where to grab hold with your hand. Every muscle in your body tense trying to keep you in the place where you re. Mind solely focused on the task at hand. Moving slightly, feeling around, using divets in the rock that are barely visible to support your weight. Ever upward straining ...

Despite the dogs and the cold and wind, we did manage a little hike up past a waterfall up to a beautiful plateau area with mountains all around. Huddled behind a rock to provide some resistance from the wind, we scarfed down a bit of picnic lunch before running back to the truck for warmth. Then it was down into the town of Ax to soak our cold feet into some hot springs.
... returned to year after year to seek shelter from the harsh weather outside. When inside the cave, they would dwell fairly close to the entrance to take advantage of the natural light, but these paintings are deep in the cavern - some almost 3 km in!
So why did these people venture all that way with only little lamps and torches to paint pictures? Who knows! Walls lined with images of bison, ibex and horses (which are found in caves all ...
... up at the Col as it stares Eastward into the next range as well as Westward. Clouds rose up from last night’s rain which blinded the eyes as the sun illuminates them from above.
Of course, the very first thing to do here is climb higher! Summiting the nearest peak, I could see through the East ranges, back towards the West, and a bit of the South as well. All around was the music of cowbells ringing above ...

Pas de la Casa, Andorra gez_skip... He made me laugh so hard I almost fell in with the frozen hamburgers. Arnaud is great, too. He and I played our second game of Scrabble one night. He played well. But, I spelled "NEZ" (nose) for twenty-two points, "JE/JETE" (I/throw away) for thirty-one points, and "CE/CHOUX" (this/cabbage) for forty-two points. (The word, "choux," was only one example of a French vocabulary built in a supermarket.) And I wholloped him, 291-168. The Parisian, Arnaud, may have a big ...
Pas de la Casa, Andorra modernoddyseus... and he offered me a taste. As I tipped back the can of beer, my boss materialized in the snow-cooled night behind the trucker. Whoops. I looked him in the eyes because I was too off-guard to do something that would immediately quadruple his daily profits. The look I gave him said, "I know I probably shouldn´t be doing what I´m doing right now, but I don´t particularly care too much about it." His taken-aback look, in response, said, "I ...
