... and went for a walk along the strip again but the most of the places where closed up now so we had a pint in an irish bar again and then we went looking for food. We decided to stop off in another english place called Rumours and could not believe it when they put on all the soaps. We caught up with emmerdale and eastenders until I could take no more and we went off to get some chinese food. It was horrid and made us both feel a ...
Torremolinos, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands traceybelleWe made it to the port in a taxi one thing I will say about Morroco its really really cheap for everything and you could get by here with such little money. We got a little hassle from a guy at the port trying to help us but they want money when they help you so as usual Ian left it to me to get rid of him and explain that we did not have any money luckily this time he went off without too much hassle.

We ...
Torremolinos, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands traceybelle... our ship, the navigator of the seas (royal caribbean) is repositioning to the caribbean for the winter. pricing on these types of cruises is very affordable and the type of people that cruise on the transatlantic sailings tend to be laid back, not the type who needs to be in a different port every day especially since we will have 6 sea days in a row as we cross the atlantic. i will have internet access on the ship so hopefully i'll be able to post daily.

Málaga, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands cruiseone2003Today we had an excursion to the Caves of Nerja about an hour away on the bus. The little town on the water was cute and reminded me so much of Dubrovnik. We have free time to visit the little church and have an ice cream. Then we were off to the nearby caves which were fascinating but didn't learn much because the guide was doing double time with the tour speaking both French and English and he spoke mostly French even when he was speaking English it seemed.
Málaga, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands mamafeathers... the Kasbah, we headed for a ¨traditional moroccan lunch¨, which was fine, with couscous, meat on skewers, and some local musicians playing music. Then it was over to the Medina, where we got a tour of a carpet shop. I thought it was good for the pictures, but not much else, so instead of staying huddled with the group in the crowded shop we headed next door to find something we would actually buy. We ended up haggling over a euro or 2 for some cheap souvineres but in the end ...

C'est un beau moment de retrouvailles, c'est bon qu'elle soit là, elle me fait du bien!! Nous rattrapons le temps perdu de ces 5 dernières semaines et on profite de tout se raconter en live!! Málaga, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands debdeb80... for lunch is an area called Chininitos where there are lots of chairs and tables set outside for a great seafood.
Teatro Romano is another nice place to visit, heading up to the Mount Gilfrano from there allows to see the whole city underneath. Amazing view of the Torre where the bullfighting occurs.
Once seeing the precaussions was over at night, we head out to Cordoba for our last day of visit in the Southern Spain.
Malaga, Andalusia, Spain canadiansmileyNext stop on the tour...Fuengirola! Joe and I took a train down to the last stop: Fuengirola. Same as Torremolinos, we had no idea where we were going to stay. So...found the nearest Irish pub and asked around... We met a nice girl working bar who said that she hated Torremolinos because, well you know, it's the gay town. It's nice to see how much progression has occurred in the world. She referred us to another hostal down the road for 50 Euro/night ...
Fuengirola, Spain evafordhamToday was a great day... I woke up nice and late (it was awesome to sleep in) to luis calling to tell me that he couldnt make it in today, so Francisco would be taking me to Arcos (my father's golf course). After the call I went to the bar across the street and had some cafe con leche and tostada (latte and toast), which was excellent but the power went out in the bar twice which was funny. I think the bartender got a ticket on his car as well... uhoh ...
