A day later, the Serbian army invaded and started wiping out villages in the east before moving on to Sarajevo and laying siege to it for 4 long years. Eventually they came to Mostar. Mostar is basically a thin town on two sides of a river, that runs through a gorge below. When the Serbs arrived they occupied only the Eastern side of Mostar, and the Bosnians had no idea why.
