... fruit... Lazing by the pool, we topped up our tan and I even managed to get sunburnt feet! Although cold, the pool was a welcome place to cool-off.
Soaking up every last ray of sunshine, we didn't head to dinner until 8.30pm and walked along the gorgeous water front, back to Playa Cucharas for my birthday dinner - the waiter treated me to a sparkler in my drink (just like at Valentines haha). Our last day ...
... large, a second table was required, just for the plate! Rolling our bellies down the hill, we head to the Island Bar, for a live music night. The owner Cara and her husband Rory, are friends with my cousin, and Rory has us clapping and cheering all night long with his very entertaining music. We met the coolest taxi driver on the ride home, who complemented my (drunken) Spanish, and told us how the water, electricity and petrol plants are side-by-side, so if one goes... they all do!
... her to return with ice cream :). 4 hours later and still no Em. I had seriously gotten my tan on, napped, read, ate ice cream (people watched around the beach selling it, super convenient) and swam some more. Finally I decided I should probably go look for her because it was getting to around the time when the boys would be coming back from the bike ride and starting the run. ... saw all the transition zones for the race day, then decided to walk down to the water. I was in sneakers so once we got to the steps we both went to take our shoes off and as soon as our bare feet touched the ground we learned it had clearly been hot for a while because these steps were SO SO HOT! We screeched and hurried down the steps to the sand...only to learn that the sand was at least twice as hot, I'm talking like burning hot. We still had ...
... and then I didn't remember "verde" meant green so I kept pushing the wrong button. All those years of Spanish and didn't even remember my colors. Whoops.
Enjoyed a fine array of salami, cheese and crackers while watching the iron man parade process through the hotel. The parade was led by this all female drum line and they were thee most lively group! It was a very very cool experience to see. Just kickin' it all day tomorrow, really hoping the sun decides to come ...
