We took off in the mid-morning for the easy 6 hour drive to Ljubljana. I had printed off the instructions but we ran into a bit of difficulty around the border of Croatia and Hungary. March 20, 2000 Today we (MY FATHER AND STEPMOTHER) flew to Slovenia. So far it is a very beautiful country. When we got here we checked in. Then we got settled and unpacked. ... s a medium size city, but has a long history that's not too familiar to most of us. I found a parking garage in downtown (street parking is not so good here), and found my hostel. It's a nice place with full kitchens and homey decorations, located right next to the Dragon Bridge along the river. The lady that runs it is very nice and helped answer all my questions about the area and staying here. I decided to stay two nights, and do a day trip tomorrow instead ...

... past the St.Martin's Church and up to Bled Castle. Walked around castle in the rain and took in the views from the castle over the lake and surrounding countryside. We then walked back down to the lake stopping at a pizzeria for lunch. Caught the 2.30pm bus back to Ljubljana. Arrived back in Ljubljana at 4pm and out for dinner at 6pm then returned to the hotel to pack from our flight to Budapest the next morning.
