Historical Traveler Reviews Apartamentos Binimar Ciudadela

from

We booked in faith with Airtours to the Binimar apartments in Cala n Forcat, Minorca. We booked the holiday on the understanding that the accommodation was 3+ stars rated and had a family friendly, "village" style atmosphere, and were looking forward to our holiday. The holiday was booked online via the Airtours website.

Unfortunately for us, we chose the Binimar apts.

As soon as we arrived at the Binimar apartments we noticed that the lovely whitewashed buildings shown on the website had been "replaced" with a multicoloured village?? Not attractive to the eye. More like a Butlins Holiday camp.

After check in, we went down to our apartment; approx 5 mins walk, and thought we had entered a Butlins holiday camp. We walked into our apartment and were very disappointed. The apartment looked as if it could do with an upgrade, but particularly in the bathroom. We had a look around.

To summarise our problems, we had -

1) Inadequate/ broken Locks on balcony doors.

2) A Broken pane of glass on balcony doors.

3) A fridge freezer with no door on the freezer compartment.

4) A broken Shower nozzle.

5) Broken Patio Chairs.

6) Stained/ damaged bed settee mattress.

7) Pools shut with no clear explanation as to why.

We spent days waiting on zero responses from the customer service reps.

9) Unsuitable/ inappropriate solution to our problem ( move to other apts at cost of 300 euros + transfer costs)

10) Lack of lifeguards at pool area.

11) Unsecured luggage storage

12) Unsuitable changing facilities (departure Lounge).

We had to deal with these problems and an inadequate level of customer service, in a 7 day period and this completely ruined our chances of a fun/ relaxing holiday. We booked the holiday thinking that 3+* accommodation would allow us a comfortable, relaxing holiday of a good standard and we ended up in sub standard accommodation looking forward to returning home!!

I you are planning on booking a holiday to the Binimar with Airtours.....Do yourself a favour........Book elsewhere!!

Fantastic

from

What can I say. Was there in July this year for two weeks. 2nd time around, had been two years previous also. Entertainment fab, we even ended up in one of the shows. John Travolta eat your heart out.

Apartments lovely and clean, kids clubs great. I have a nine year old and a three year old and both love the Binimar. We do go self catering though as there as lots of nice restaurants not too far from the apartments.

Would go back again definately.

Excellent

from

The first time we went to the Binimar we were allocated on arrival. We loved it so much we have been back twice and will very likely go back again. It's clean and the staff are very friendly. We've alway gone self catering so we can't comment on the food but there are plenty of restaurants nearby. The two nearest beaches are quite small but there is a larger one nearby with watersports but who needs a beach with three pools! Entertainment every night but mainly for the children. Would recommend the Binimar anytime.

The best holiday ever!!!!

from

the best holiday i've ever had

there was a choice of three pools, plenty of sunbeds for everyone!

activities for everyone everyday

entertainment till midnight everynight

nice clean room!

Fantastic family holiday

from

Recently returned from one week half board holiday at the Binimar. We have a 3 1/2 yr old and a 3 month old baby and have just had a fantastic holiday. The 3 pools are lovely, the entertainment is excellent, plently for the family to do. My son has been dancing till midnight and knows the 'Court of King Caracticus(?) off by heart!! Food option for half board not great, but worth it for the convenience of 'there if you need it'. Would definitely go back again and would not hesitate recommending it or the area to anyone else.

Soo relieved

from

Just returned from the Binimar, and god was I relieved when I finally got there! Travelled with my mam and 3yr old and was dreading going after reading some of the reviews.

Our appartment was clean and kept clean by the maids that where always around.

The complex was clean and tidy, staff friendly and helpful.

We stayed half board, the food could have been better it got a bit boring, but we did't starve, if we went back would go self catering as we gave it a miss a few days! All seemed to be frozen or tinned! Not much choice for kids.

There were three lovely clean swimming pools, with childrens pools attatched wonderful play area for the kids, my daughter was exhausted!

The small cove of a beach was ok, no golden sand and a bit of hard work pushing the buggy down a rubble road, but it fulifiled my daughters quest in searching for nemo! Water was clean and sand ok.

On departure there was a changing room, where you could go take a shower and get ready to go home, with a locked baggage room.

Some of the comments I read about the Binimar seem unjust, but some people I guess are never satisfied!

Loved it!!!

from

I was there last July with my husband and 2 son's aged 7 and 3. The apartments were very clean, entertainment staff were excellent for night time activities aswell as day time activities. The pool's were all child friendly. It's great for families. Don't have a bad thing to say about it. All the resort was very child friendly. Would go back in a minute :-)

Fantastic fortnight

from

Just returned from a fortnight at the binimar resort with my wife and children and it was fantastic the kids had plenty to do and the entertainment was fantastic already booked up for next year.

Loved the Binimar and the island of Menorca

from

Just got back from a week at the Binimar Apartments, Menorca. It was a last minute deal and named accommodation on arrival. We weren't dissappointed the apartment was basic but clean, the beds and pillows were extremeley comfortable, entertainment in the hotel was above average and that is where we stayed most of the time because it was pretty quiet everywhere else. First time for both my friend and myself in Menorca and would definateley go back there again, we thought the island was very pretty. I probably would not go back to the Binimar in high season only because it caters mostly for children and I could imagine that it would be pretty noisy then, however, on saying that Ii am thinking of taking my grandaughter there as they are marvellous with kiddies (the hotel staff and the reps)

Just great

from

my husband and myself came home yesterday from menorca we stayed at the binimar apartments and i must say it was the best holiday i have been on.the accomadation was first class very clean the pools were great the staff very friendly. all in all a smashing holiday

Magical Menorca

... the place. Maybe this just stems from the time that we owned the island in the 18th Century?

Menorca is definitely a holiday island, it is much smaller than its neighbour, Majorca, seems far less developed and where this has taken place the villas or hotels seem to be on a much smaller, or higher quality scale. This might just be a 'rose tinted spectacles' view but it seems a pleasant place to spend some time and maybe with us being out of the main ...

Dragonera

... Spanish omelette with unlimited sangria...!! Although I think I only managed two glasses (honestly!). The island is uninhabited, except for thousands of small lizards, who were very welcoming! It was lots of fun trying to help John get over his fears, and it was useful to have our own "dragon-handler" (Andrea) on hand. We only had an hour to spend on the island, and after a short walk, the others went for a swim. However, I thought there was something ...

Last day at school... And thankfully Javier made it quite fun! We practised telephone conversations and played Taboo in Spanish which I think was a very useful way of practicing what we had learnt - and was good fun (no Lucking cheating tactics allowed!). At the end of the lesson, I was handed my certificate -140 hours of lessons! My progress is apparently just higher than a GCSE in Spanish - so nowhere near fluent, but not bad for 7 ...

Es Trenc

After school today, James drove us to Coloni Sant Jordi, a pretty little port, for a bite to eat. We had intended to explore a nearby beach which was recommended by a local, but after having had quite a few days of exploring recently, we drove straight to Es Trenc beach instead. People had told me that this was their favourite beach on the island... It's definitely nice. A very long, narrow beach with nice sand and sea. However, it seemed to be having ...

Day 39

A travel blog entry by 4girls on Aug 08, 2014

... everyone jumped from the water. The canoes arrived and everyone jumped in and paddled around the island. First stop was at a cliff with tee jumps. After a few people jumped, Chloe and Lauren also thought it would be a good idea. Upon getting to the top, it looked ALOT higher then in the water. Chloe made Lauren jump first who awkwardly turned in the air and landed on her bum....yes she ...
