... About a mile up the street, they caught up with the #10 bus just pulling out of a bus stop. The man driving pulled in front of the bus and Cory jumped out and began to pound on the bus windows, running to the front of the bus and yelling stop. The bus driver stopped, Cory jumped on the bus and told him he left his backpack on the bus. ... left Split on our boat, Sika, complete with 5 Kiwis (Terri, Bryce and Craig + 2 others), one Aussie and two Americans. Being a small yacht, there was only one crew member, but the Irish guy delivered on all fronts, skippering, cleaning, cooking and most importantly partying (he has gained the nickname of "Slurms the party worm" from other skippers at Med Sailors).

... t get back up again. Gave up and eventually hauled myself onto my feet, with a little help. Christo lost his wedding ring, which is now on the bed of the ocean. He reckons that if he was going to lose it, the beach of Dubrovnik was probably the most beautiful place to do so. After our swim (grethe even managed to get a tan line), we dressed and walked back to the old city for another stroll and our first ice cream. All I can say is that dark (as in almost black) ...

... to get a warm dry place to sit. After lunch we rode to the top of the hill to an enormous statue Urbain II and a beautiful panoramic view of the Champagne valley. However, the rains came in earnest and the view disappeared from sight. Not a good sign for afternoon riding. Our ride took us to villages and lots of rolling roads. The highlight was the very steep assent to the village of Hautevilliers at the end of the day. This town was the home ofDom Perignon, the father ...
