Of course, clouds & haze interrupted it so we didn't have quite the "show" we were hoping for, but it was still very peaceful & breathtaking. How to back the van out this giant puddle became an issue rather quickly as the water was now ankle deep. Luckily our neighbours the kiwis were up and about and keen as we were to get out of the site, so offered us a hand if we needed. Wheels spun and we were going nowhere on the first attempt, so ...

... left Split on our boat, Sika, complete with 5 Kiwis (Terri, Bryce and Craig + 2 others), one Aussie and two Americans. Being a small yacht, there was only one crew member, but the Irish guy delivered on all fronts, skippering, cleaning, cooking and most importantly partying (he has gained the nickname of "Slurms the party worm" from other skippers at Med Sailors).
