Before sunrise it's almost cold. It follows a night behind a mosquito net and open doors onto a balcony that allowed cool night air into our room. Cold blue sky mornings with the anticipation of hot days remind me of north India winters. There's time for tea, second cups as the sun rises, warming the air, and my bare feet, in minutes. The hotel sprinklers come to life and a background of distant dog barking is replaced by the hissing of summer ...

... Tripadvisor reviews mentioned pachanar, a word that d/n translate. It was the local digestif. Of course it was not good enough for Diego. I suggested he only travels to complain nothing is as good as Italy. It was a good meal [20E].

Back to the hotel for a big of computer time, this time getting the blog published the same day. I undoubtedly have some mistakes as proofreading has gone out the window on this trip; who cares. Must remember some aspirin.

Took a tour of the bullring and it's museum. It is the oldest bullring in Spain and is still in use every Sunday and every day during festivals. Off to mass in the morning then kill animals in the afternoon! The tour was quite fascinating, outlining how bullfighting first started (apparently a development of medieval jousting) and how it has changed over the years. The horses for example are now fully protected in leather so are never injured, whereas before the 1940s several would ...

... Tommy has been photo bombing, we found BK and McD, but ate at a charming restaurant (after Tommy indulged in an ice cream cone at McD for an afternoon treat. We also found people from Corpus enjoying the are as well.
