... his hardest to get me on a plane, however my not acting fast enough led to a very good ticket for $500US slipping away. So I pulled some strings, and I'm now going to Toronto direct on Wednesday I'm bummed out like mad that I can't go to NYC and possibly not even Detroit, but I guess it just happens sometimes. Next time I guess.. But at least now I can go to Canada! Wednesday can't come fast enough.

This is my third day trying to get out of the island on standby. I was 38/47 on the list earlier. So many families of staff members using their tickets for holiday.. It's insanity. It seems to be impossible to get out of the Caribbean right now! Hopefully I'll figure out something soon, otherwise I may have to cancel parts of my itinerary.. :(

... I was a little bit disappointed that the tour did not stopped here. I would have like to.

We then proceeded to St. John's Church which is perched 800 feet above the Atlantic ocean. Here, we got off the bus and enjoyed our tour inside as well as outside the church. It was amazing. From the back of the church, a magnificent view of the blue azure ocean could be seen. It was absolutely breathtaking.

... huge sea turtles swimming one next to the other one in their environment. What a beautiful scene! Too bad I couln't take any pictures, my camera not being waterproof. Small coloured fishes could also be seen next to some huge yellow angelfish. Here I was, in the Caribbean Sea snorkeling. I was this little (well not so little) fish swimming in this huge aquarium. It was a dream come true. It was magic ...

... winter to somewhere warmer the other side of the Atlantic. The next morning while hoisting a second headsail to get a little more speed I disturbed them and they all flew off into the West. I guess they just needed a rest and Bella was the closest Island. A few hours later, to my surprise a little head popped out of the sail cover and as he looked around he quickly realised that the rest of his flock had flown the coop and he was left alone. We felt quite sorry for this little guy and ...

... Poor Tess was struck down with more sickness, becoming quite a hobby. Friday nite in Barbados means Oistins Fish Fry - hundreds of mainly tourist folk jammed into a car park romantically named Bay Gardens, just under the gas tanks, eating fried fish and listening to 80's disco numbers. Checked out a couple of little bars on the main road but found ourselves having to run away from Jason Donovan tracks (Any dream will not do, Jason) and karaoke. Next day was FA ...

... with my cousin who lives in the area. We drove to one of the best rated beaches in the world, Crane beach, located on the east shore. This is a beautiful long stretch of beach with big surfer waves. We stopped at the Crane Resort for a drink and take in the view. You can book a taxi to drive you around the island for the day and show you all the highlights at a reasonable rate.

... because i have a lot of female american friends in the dorm who come to visit me in my block. it's funny trying to explain to them that i'm not that crazy and that i am a one-woman man (i'm dating a girl from berkely who is also here in the dorms) because they just don't seem to believe me. anyways, the atmosphere here in the dorms, and at the university, is extremely academic. people are studying for final exams already, even though they are about three weeks away. i don ...

... jen and i got through customs and exited the airport. we were just about to get into a taxi when a man approached us and asked if we were with the UC. it turned out that UWI (the university i am studying at) had sent a representative to meet us at the airport, which i thought was awesome. they told us that they were waiting on three other people from the UC, and after they arrived, they took us all to a lodge where i stayed until i moved into the dorms (three days). the ...
