... After lunch and gelato, we went to the Gothic Quarter (Barri Gotic) and saw a Gothic Cathedral, some markets, musicians and even a headless man (doing a trick). Then we had some yummy pastries (muffin, meringues and Xurros) for a snack and bought fans for Ben and Jon. Then we caught the train to the beach. Ben and Jon played on the beach and we bought dinner from the markets. We had empanadas (meat pies), fresh orange juice and chocolate churros for desert. What a great ...

I was drawn to a large, multi-angled roof and as I came closer I recalled bus audio commentary about a large market but hadn't connected the audio with the visual until I approached and found this enormous roof covers a multi-level area of hundreds of stalls offering an amazing array of items. Some are brand new ...

... a brief tour of the Monastery. Ian and I decided an ice cream was in order after all that sweating and walking, so we only spent a few minutes in the church. We then headed off for Barcelona, the last stop of our Explorer tour. One of our group, Miranda, celebrated her birthday today and we went out for dinner at a local restaurant. We had also sung her happy birthday on the bus and toasted her during our cava ...

... Pete & I went to the beach at Barceloneta and had some beers at the beach bar we found two days before. In the evening we all went to Señyor Parellada a restaurant I had found a couple of years ago. We finished off the night with some gelatis and Ballantyne's whiskey. All these places were within 30 metres of our ...
