... and the Ponte degli. Scalzi (1858) and to the restaurant recommended by Marco at our hotel. The owners are friends of his and we were not disappointed. Meal was lovely and what a great location, right on the Grand Canal. Wednesday 22nd October Stormed overnight and the day was clear and sunny, though decidedly cool so decided it was a good day to spend on the water, easy in Venice. Crossing canals and weaving through alleyways and archways, we could hear the faint voices of gondoliers serenading their guests. The charm of Venice is very prominent and the city engulfs you like a warm blanket on a very wet and dreary day. The leaves from the few trees in the city have started to fall and ...

... So now it's off to find out where we will pick up the key for our accommodation once we return to Venice. We will stay in a small place where you pick up the key in one place, but the actual accommodation is somewhere completely different, quite normal here apparently. As we will arrive back in Venice at 6am we figure it would be good to find the place now. Back on the people mover to the other end of the line, where once out of the station and across the ...
