The middle floor was interesting and it had a lot of stories from the first world war, which you don't tend to hear about as much because people just talk about world war two. After we finished looking around we got lunch at a café a little way out of the town centre which was really nice. It was all home made food and delicious!

... Guess what, it started to snow. Very lightly at first, right as we got out of the taxi! A Christmas present just for us! The Restaurant and hotel (it turns out) was once owned by St. Peter's church. The chalet style restaurant was cosy and filled with happy diners. ... the length of time we spent there or that lunch had somehow been delayed and became dinner. The snow showers became heavier throughout the day so that a walk around the village after dinner with snow falling was another highlight. The morning of Boxing Day was spent packing and watching the locals plough snow and clear the roads after a reasonable snow fall overnight. ... learnt to make pizza shapes (snow plow) but it was all in German. Alex loved it but Samantha was a little hesitant. We then ventured over to Alpendorf to ski as there was not enough snow at Werfenweg. We had a couple of small runs and Alex demonstrated that he had little control.
