... the Istrian Peninsula and ride through the Učka mountains. The Učka mountains are pretty, but not as high as the Alps. I entered Croatia and encountered the town of Buzet and took some photos. Thereafter the roads were quite windy and enjoyable to ride.

The Učka can be crossed at the Poklon pass with a height of 920 meters, and riding a good road with lots ...

We left Opatija yesterday morning at 6.20 by bus to Trieste where we caught the train to Venice Mestre. Ray and Jo walked down to see us off which was nice of them. They still have another 3 weeks, travelling to Slovenia and Vienna. We will miss them as we had a great 2 week road trip, full of adventure, fun, stress and laughter!! M

Three days now in Croatia having travelled from Lake Bled on a very good motorway system to Rovinj in Croatia. We visited the caves at Postojna which were amazing .. A train trip of 2 kilometres at beginning and end with a walking tour in between which was a bit taxing but I kept up with the crowd. parked in parking lots and, what struck me that I haven't seen a car that was
more than 10 years old and there wasn’t a dirty car to be seen.

After getting lost (?) I finally find my way back to the ship and
it was time to clean up for the Captain’s cocktail party (to which Erika didn't want to go but, we went). After the party we went to dinner and, late at night, to watch a show in the theater.
