Burano one of Venice's many islands is like Venice but a lot smaller and way more colourful. It reminded me a bit of La Boca in Buenos Aires. Brightly coloured buildings line the canals and although busy with tourists at this time of year, a lot quieter and it has a sense of calm about it. It is very charming. When Blake was done, we wandered deeper into the city's maze of narrow streets, eventually finding our way back to the city center where the market was winding down. We ate lunch at an Italian inspired restaurant (Trieste is less than 30 km away) with tables in the city square before returning to retrieve the mini-bus.
