After our 2 day sail we pull into Portamao and decide to drop anchor rather than go into the marina as it was a lovely big bay by the beach and a lovely afternoon. Just what we needed after 2 long days at sea. The sunset was beautiful and a cosy night in board before getting up at 3 to head onto Sines on the west coast of ...

As we headed south there were lots barren dry lands....bit like Australia actually. Almost expected the odd Kangaroo to appear. Very little grown it was so dry ... Then we went further and lots olive orchards, orange trees, and some animal farms. A very quick trip along the motorway .... Great roads and easy to get somewhere fast. Listening ...

... that flies love my sun cream – when we arrive I have in excess of 50 little flies stuck to my arms and legs… yuck. After de-flying, we explore Coimbra, hiking up the hill to get a view from above in the scorching 33.5˚ heat and choose the scenic route on the way down. We enjoy a picnic lunch in the park and then spend the later part of the afternoon in the outdoor pool the parque has to offer. It is a lovely way to cool down, and when we set off at 7pm we ...
