I need to post my photos from the Alcazar. And I now need to post photos from the Mezquita in Cordoba. Both were awesome. Beyond words. They require pictures. But, I am too lazy to post them right now. However, I have a 3.5 hour ride to Granada tomorrow. So hopefully I will get a bit more organized during that trip and post when I arrive at the oasis... no, the hostel is actually called Oasis. :)

Hasta luego mis amigos!
Cordoba, Andalusia, Spain josiezim... to see them in the original state but it is what it is thanks to history. The town was small, beautiful and full of life but not a place I could live, I need more chaos! Overall I really enjoyed the visit to Cordoba, I never really realized how much I liked architecture and art until I got here and can't wait to explore it more in the coming months.
Córdoba, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands aperiseeAh... One of the cities in Spain by far is Cordoba. If you are into photography, night shots of the old city of Cordoba is a must to do. The city is surrounded by a fortress. We got a room in a hotel just outside of the old city. 15 minutes walk will take you to the ...
Córdoba, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands canadiansmiley... But I realized when I looked at the schedule for all the museums and sites, most of them were closed until later in the afternoon. If we had gone to one of them, we probably would not have had time for dinner before our nighttime walking tour. Instead we decided that the next day we would see at least one more site before we left for Granada. My dad and I had dinner at a local restaurant and then made our way to the ...
Córdoba, Andalusia, Spain spnteacher... on some lists it is one of the "new" wonders of the world, and rightfully so in my opinion). Anyways, the Cathedral/Mosque of Cordoba was our first stop in the ancient city, actually established by Romans, of which one Roman bridge across the river still remains. Right when entering the city, the Moorish architecture of the mosque startles the visitor. Its minaret, converted to a bell tower by the Christians similar to the Giralda in Sevilla, stands prominent as do ...
Córdoba, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands lar4290... Time of Cholera". I could basically understand what was happening, but it was kind of slow and very intense. We went out for Mexican food because my roommates were craving it. Monday: I'm almost finally caught up. The weather here has been a lot different. Luckily it's been raining quite a bit, so the drought isn't as bad. It only rains for a couple of hours in the afternoon, usually during siesta time, which is good because basically ...
Córdoba, Spain anniemac7... To my frustration, they all seem to be closed to the public. Arg. There is a castle down by the river that once housed the Christian kings, and it´s got some original bits, mostly the walls, and the baths. There is a significant chunk that hasn´t been rebuilt upon and looks like it´s being excavated at the moment, but you can only look at it from a window. Anyway, I´ve enjoyed looking around, and am moving south tomorrow.
Córdoba, Spain locabeThe work continues... I am heart-broken about the Mavericks losing not only Game 6 last night, but the entire NBA Finals. I stayed optimistic the entire way through - all the way until the end - but sometimes the inevitable just happens. The Mavs had a great run this year & I'll be looking forward to cheering them on next season. And that is all I would like to say about that.

Córdoba, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands spirityufo... one thing and then 30 minutes later came up with another idea. I didn´t really want to be here. I had planned 2 nights here and then on to Madrid then Barcelona, but I have met a bunch of people that have said great things about Valencia, so I am going to Madrid tomorrow instead and will try to get to Valencia on Sunday or Monday. But that´s still a few days away so we will see. Cordoba is pretty boring so far. It poured all day, the hostel is boring as ...
