With 1000km to drive in 2 days to get to Logrono to meet the girls, we had a fair bit of driving to do. Not terribly busy either so you are not constantly fighting with trucks as was the case on the mediterranean coast.
The hills and valleys are very like Ireland, lush green fields and woodland.
Naturally enough there are heavy industries now and again on the landscape but not spoiling it too much.

We woke up early. It was so hard! I wanted to stay in a comfy bed for another 30 minutes. :) We got ready, took a bus and in city centre by 9am. First thing first, we visited the statue of our beloved Woody Allen. He filmed "Vicky, Christina Barcelona" here in Oviedo and apparently was very fond of this city. Oviedo is full of statues and sculptures and this is one of them scattered around.
