Last Weekend of Freedom!

... I managed to get to the gym before going out to dinner for Alicia's Birthday. She wanted Thai food so we went to a Thai restaurant that was delicious. I got chicken with cashews and rice. It was really good. Then the girls had everyone over for cake to celebrate. My wanting to go to bed early didn't really happen because I didn't get to bed until midnight. But the weekend was fun and I will be needing a siesta very soon.

Today, we had orientation for our classes which ...

Sevilla day 2 then back to Madrid

... pretty interesting because part of it was set in Sevilla! Who knew? They also talk about Christopher Columbus’ tomb and how they only have part of his body, the scrotum! How funny. About two hours into the trip, some old guy came to the front of the bus to talk to the bus driver. The bus driver then made a phone call (of which I didn’t understand because it was in Spanish). We then turned off the road, which we shouldn ...

Still at home

... basically just gonna lets these words flow with no clear outline, brief, moral story, beginning or end, even dare i say punctuation or grammar, i know myself and how my mind works and i tend to go off on ones in all kinds of direction sometimes without finishing the story i started or making it that clear of that i have gone in to another one. things just seem to make sense at the end (well for me), i suppose its like looking at a Picasso painting, its not as if ...

Tapas, Via Gran and the Inquisition

... room is on the floor above the counter were you order and was full of couches and coffee tables. Dylan ordered some fancy mocha or something, and I just got a black americano. I never really liked coffee, but ever since Ryan once told me that I probably wouldnt like an Americano, I like it. Maybe its a "See, I DO like it" kinda thing. We talked, which was nice, because it seems that we are always on the run, never really just sitting down to talk about the little ...

The Land of Ham, Salsa Dancing and Mullets

We covered the main sites in Madrid during my stay. Friday we took a stroll through Downtown Sol, with all the hustle, bustle and lights of a city center. Another curiosity was the Museo de Jamón, or the Museum of Ham. Yes, apparently Spaniards really love ham, but your guess is as good as mine as to why they enjoy ham so much. I also spied on George Clooney, or at least the hotel he owns at the Plaza Mayor. After that we went salsa ...

Ay-Yay-YAI !

... time anyone walked passed I would inhale deeply to try to catch a whiff of the amazing fragrances lingering in the air. [This is a BIG deal as China doesn´t seem to sell deodorant and I´m guessing from our experiences that a lot of folk don´t believe in cologne, perfume or hygiene]. We spent the whole day talking about how this was the most amazing place on earth. I´m not sure if we were swayed by the cereal/milk breakfast buffet at our hotel ...

Madrid... same same but different

... Picasso wing, we went through some of the Salvadore Dali galleries. Finally, we walked the fourth floor to take in some of the more recent modern "art". Siesta back at the hotel and then headed out and grabbed some pretty nasty tapas. It´s truly amazing the number of people out on a Saturday night in Madrid. We hit up some bars down by Plaza de Santa Ana. Enjoyable Spanish pop to start the night, but most places seem to end the night with American pop-rock or Eurotrash pop.
