Here Vigo, here Vigo!
... back and look at the memorials showing where the Pinta, the third of Columbus' ships landed back. There is a statue of a man leading a horse in very odd pose but we have no idea what this commemorates! We are driven back the scenic route along the coast and pass some lovely houses and beaches and a very lovely five star hotel before being dropped back in Vigo.

Arrivederci Italia...Hola Espana!!
... on it? What a great use of space. The information lady was nice and told us where to go. We waited in line but they only check in people for one flight at a time, so we had to wait a while before the flight to Barcelona was checked in. We found a nice salad bar with fresh veggies and enjoyed that with some good bread. We like the Rome airport. We were so happy to find food. And the bathrooms are FREE, and decent! I don't know why it bugs me so much ...
Yellow paint and oysters
... we supposed were from which they fish out the oysters, famous in this area. The whole area is flanked by three islands, rich in wildlife and with one or two nice looking beaches.
Having marched up to the top of the hill, we then marched back down again, via one or two buildings which are, literally, falling apart. There is a slight feeling of faded glory about many of the buildings in Vigo, which must have been beautiful in their day.

An easy trip to the airport (thank you so much, FMB... and we hope you did not get held up by that lengthy jam on the way home again) and a quick check was soon completely spoilt by a lengthy and painful grind through security. About four long queues mainly of passengers flying to the Middle East, or the Indian sub-continent meant that not only did they not understand what they were supposed to do, but it then took ages for them ...
