My misconceived idea that if we went up through the mountains along the Pyrenees that it would be cooler. Today is the hottest day we have encountered so far. I don't know how hot as I have no wifi or reception but I'm guessing 35 to 40 degrees. We left Pamplona and it was cool and pleasant but instead of taking Kerry through to Zaragoza I instead chose to go up through the mountains to ...

... Sounds terrible but was quite OK.
Rolling out to the sprawling plains of yellow dry wheat, we made our way into the modern city of Huesca - the "capital" of this part of Aragon. Headed down the highway towards Pamplona with memories in our heads of walking this area last year. See the hill in the distance the famous sculpture is on and reminisced of the climb and boulder strewn descent. Saw some pilgrims on their way. No connecting back roads on today's route.

We decided to make our start towards Barcelona where we need to be in 3 days. Our plan is to run along the foothills of the Pyrenees and it wasn't long before we saw snow ...

... almost resides. She lives in a rotating bay, which faces the church most of the time but is spun round ( very slowly) to the chapel so that she can be closely admired and you can be blessed by a monk standing at her side recieving kisses to a small picture of her. From the church side she is the centrepiece of a giant glitzy golden altarpiece behind a decorative gate about 15ft from the ground. Lured in by the tour I did get a blessing but air ...
