Calle 109 No. 22 - 51 Bogota, Colombia, 571-612-3661-
... which was built between 1807 and 1823, the cathedral is the biggest in Colombia and one of the biggest in South America. On the southern side of the square is the Place of Justice which is a modern building surrounded by old ones, it is where the Supreme Court is. The history of the Justice Palace is tragic enough and maybe symbolic of the problems of the nation. The first building was built in 1921 and was destroyed by a fire during the massive riots that ...

Bogota, Colombia toni90... Kunsthandwerk…!

Bogota, Colombia toni90... get to toilet talk ........ something I've managed to avoid for sometime on this blog. The day began with a slight, shall we say, stomach upset. nothing too serious and nothing that would delay our ride. Several hours later I felt an urgent need to use the toilet, and it was raining, a good opportunity to stop, have a coffee and use the facilities. I was directed around the back of the little shop front, past the chickens and the dogs, into the ...
Fusagasuga, Cundinamarca, Colombia 50odd... violence is reduced and foreign investment is up. It is tough to know if/when Colombia will be able to fully govern her sovereign territory as finding FARC in the dense Amazonian jungles lacking in roads and other infrastructure is like trying to find and defeat NVA troops and the Vietcong. We all know how (un)successful that was. However, a couple of years ago, a senior FARC leader was assassinated near the Ecuador border and the raid turned ...
Bogota, Colombia chiapoe... more colors of roses than I had ever seen, and an indoor tropical plant exhibit, with intriguing-looking plants in all shades of green.

From there, we wandered a bit through the park, stumbling upon an amusement park, complete with roller coasters and a large ferris wheel, and then an indoor aquatic park with dozens of colorful slides coiling into a large pool. I was quite impressed, once again, with Bogota´s diverse offerings. Rather than partaking in either of the ...
Bogota, Colombia marsie80... are planning on taking the bus to the beach tomorrow in Cartegena. Maybe we are jumping the gun, but Bogota seems like the type of city you need to integrate yourself into rather than just visit for tourist attractions. It is probably better known for its nightlife and friendly people, rather than breathtaking scenery and great attractions. If I was able to stay here awhile, I think I would probably enjoy the place alot, but now I think I prefer the beach.
Bogota, Colombia seanathon11... Bogota, Ali had been going on about it so we decided to go and have a look. It is a really cool museum. For starters its located in the main police HQ. Our guide was a policeman who started by explaining us all we were going to see, how old that building was, etc. First we were walked into a room where we could see hundreds of confiscated guns used in the history of Colombia. It was awesome, though a little disconcerting knowing this firepower is found on the street!!!! From ...
Bogotá, Colombia giv... stranded for the night bla bla bla, its only 20 minutes more. Fearfully we went on, but as we turned the next corner the sea was worse and he agreed to turn back. He dropped us off at the beach we wanted to stop at and he totally lied. There was a bus transfere to the park there and lots of stuff. My lips were so blue when I got off, people were asking we if I had eaten an blue ice pop. We had been on the boat for nearly two hours. The next ...
