... it's a different story from that vantage point ... Well, that's Tegucigalpa in a nutshell. Good from far, but far from good.

The mountainous nature of the area combined with years of uncontrolled growth up every slope has created a tightly knit network of winding and poorly maintained roads. The roads are lined with barbed wire enclosures and high walls topped with electric fencing. The result is limited visibility and a lack of ...

... law. This is a law witch prohibits the sale of alcohol before and during the elections so everybody is acting appropriately/respectful during this period. But everybody knows this so everybody is plundering the convenience stores for alcohol before. A friend of Xenia held a ley seca party at his home, it was a good party and a good oppertunity to meet her friends and try some of the local moonshine.

... There were some great rooster
combs on the chickens there so I took quite a few photos. The chickens' necks were rather bare looking. Jane and Naomi tried the corn fritters and really liked them.

The town of Valle de Angeles is quite touristy with lots of souvenir shops. There are some lovely carved wooden boxes (the area is renowned for its mahogany carving). I should have bought one. I did buy ...
