... facility are ziplines and hanging bridges. We booked to go on the Tram and walk across the hanging bridges without realising the walk was actually a 4 hour guided walk. We negotiated with the guide that we would go part of the way and then return on our own, partly so we did not have to climb the very steep slope and partly to give us time alone to birdwatch. We find that the groups on these walks never stop talking which is not good for bird or wildlife spotting. It was a good ...

... a.m. but there were staff all around who were more than happy to show us things. Carlos, the Toucan Bird Guide, brought us to where the Toucans were and gave us a “close-encounter” experience with 5-6 birds that all had names like “Bubba” and “Pez” or maybe “Chief” but I can’t remember what their names are. Tess and I got the ...

... and early, ready for a trip to the beautiful La Paz waterfall gardens. We saw monkeys, jungle cats and a whole lot of butterflies in addition to the breathtaking waterfalls. However, the mini waterfall taps in the bathrooms definitely stole the show, entertaining us for quite a while :P Sunday was one of my favourite days of the entire first week; a day trip to the breathtakingly gorgeous Isla Tortuga. Despite feeling quite ill, I ...

... stopped, looking up into the trees and hurriedly ushered us forward. Initially, I thought he had spotted a monkey, but it turned out to be a white anteater - an incredibly rare find! We watched the anteater curl its long tail round a branch and sniff around, scouting for a meal. Again, he was so high that we could only see him through binoculars but it was still such a magical thing to see. The guide told us we had good energy to be able to see so much ...
